Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Game Drive in Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara, a relatively small but diverse park 120 km west of Arusha, is named for the shallow salt lake that occupies a good seventy percent of the park’s land. Flooding and drying seasonally, this soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On our exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, elephants, and with some luck, lions lounging on trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. After completing the game drive, our guide will drive you to Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you’ll head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high-lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, you’ll descend into the heart of wild Africa —the Serengeti National Park —with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. You’ll head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. After the game drive is completed in the late evening, our guide will drive you to your accommodation at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge for a relaxation dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Game Drive in Serengeti National Park-Ngorongoro Highlands

After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart for another game drive in the majestic Serengeti National Park. You will wake up early and enjoy a magical game drive in Serengeti National Park before you depart in the afternoon to Ngorongoro Highlands for an en route game drive heading to your accommodation inside Ngorongoro.

Day 4: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater - Drive to Arusha

You’ll have breakfast early in the morning at the lodge and drive to Ngorongoro Crater where you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half day’s safari tour. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalos, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopards, which sometimes require a trained eye to spot. You will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. After the crater tour, our guide will drive you back to Arusha airport/JRO where it’s the end of our services.
