Day 2: Central Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll proceed to cross the Ngorongoro Highlands until you reach Serengeti gate, where you will start your game drives.
Serengeti National Park is the most famous park in Africa with more than 15,000 sq km of savannah. It’s full of lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, and many other wild animals.
After the game drive, you will proceed to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay at your accommodation.
Day 3: Northern Serengeti National Park
Today, the game drive will start at sunrise. After a simple breakfast (a cup of coffee and snacks), the morning game drive will start at around 6:00 am whereby at this time Serengeti Plains is more active and a great time to spot a lot of animals and birds.
You will base yourself around the Mara River area where crocodiles prey and the wildebeest gather and wait to cross. For days, their numbers will increase and anticipation grows. However, for no apparent reason, many will turn and wander away from the water’s edge. Eventually, the wildebeest will choose a crossing point which varies from year to year and cannot be predicted.
Nowhere in the world is there a movement of animals as immense as the great wildebeest migration and to witness it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Day 4: Northern Serengeti Nationa Park to Ngorongoro Highlands
You’ll enjoy the great view of the sunrise in the north with a glass of coffee or tea with the magic sound of wildlife. You will drive to witness the spectacular wildlife of northern Serengeti. The game drive will continue until the early afternoon while you will be driving to central Serengeti before heading to Ngorongoro Conservation. Then, you’ll drive back through the Serengeti and then Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a game drive en route, observing more lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and hyenas. Your accommodation will be at Ngorongoro Wild Camp.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, you’ll head out for an en-route game drive from Serengeti. You may be lucky on your side to spot all of the Big Five, the endless plain to the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage site was formed millions of years ago with the massive explosion of a volcano. Once higher than Kilimanjaro is 610 m deep and covers roughly 265 square kilometers. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25,000 ungulates, the Crater offers the best wildlife viewing. You will arrive at the Crater rim before lunch with the view of the spectacular landscape that spreads out before your eyes stored in your memories. You’ll descend the bumpy winding track that brings you onto the Crater floor and very quickly we will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and perhaps black rhinos through the grass. After lunch and a full afternoon inside the Crater, you will head to Arusha.
