A carefully selected and tailored adventure for a wide range of travellers. Take a drive through Tanzania’s wild side to discover its best kept secrets. Get up close and personal with your favourite wildlife to learn more about them. Witness wildebeest calves taking their first breaths of air with your own eyes at Ndutu (South Serengeti), where vast herds of wildebeest embark on a long-distance migration that coincides with annual rain fall patterns and grass growth. Following the short rainy season in November, herds of wildebeest migrate to the Serengeti’s short-grass plains.
The short-grass plains are found east and south of the Seronera, in the vicinity of Ndutu and the northern Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Wildebeest and zebra herds can be seen roaming the plains, feeding on the nutrient-rich grasses. The vast majority of wildebeest calve in February. They typically stay in the area until April, when they begin to migrate west towards the Serengeti National Park’s Western Corridor.
Beautiful skies will be illuminated by an African sunset over the grassy plains. The adventure includes the best accommodations, making you feel at home a million miles away.
Area to Visit
Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti & Ndutu
When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a KLAAdventures representative. After completion of check in procedures, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you will rest and receive a brief pre-safari briefing from your Guide.
Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay before departing for your safari in the next few hours.
Your safari itinerary begins with an early breakfast and a drive to Tarangire National Park. You must check in with the park authorities upon arrival to complete the check in procedures. Your appreciation for nature begins here. We then get back into our 4 x 4 safari jeep and begin driving through the park in search of animals. Elephants are usually seen a few kilometers from the main gate, but these massive animals are sometimes seen right at the main gate.
We make our way deeper into the park, to the Tarangire River. Most animals congregate here, especially during the dry seasons. We’ll eat lunch at noon, take a short break, and then go on another game drive after we’ve freshened up. We’ll drive to Ngorongoro Highlands before the evening to spend the night.
After a delicious breakfast, we make our way to Ndutu via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We leave the conservation area and travel to the Ndutu Migration Area. Lake Ndutu is only a few minutes away by car. These lakes are home to a variety of water birds, including the majestic flamingo. We’ll leave the lake area and head deeper into the park, where we’ll meet up with the wildebeest herds.
The calving season is an exciting time for wildebeest herds as they welcome new additions to their herds. This attracts predators from all directions in search of an easy meal. Hyenas and cats are frequently seen preying on newborn calves. After the activities of the day, we will return to our lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
After delicious breakfast breakfast, we depart for an early game drive in Ndutu. We’ll be able to see wildebeests as far as the eye can see, just like the other day. One of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife can be found here, living in the shade of massive granite boulders rising from the grass. At this time of year, the grass will be teeming with new life.
A picnic lunch in a designated park area will help to break up a busy day of game drives. After lunch, you’ll resume your afternoon game drive, looking for games you didn’t see in the morning. We’ll return to the lodge after a long game drive.
In the morning, we’ll have breakfast at the lodge before going to the Southern Serengeti for another exciting game drive. The Serengeti National Park is never limited of surprises; in other words, it has a lot to offer its reputable clients. Animals will be plentiful because Southern Serengeti borders the Ndutu Area. In the afternoon, you will enjoy your picnic lunch while looking for wild animals in the grasses.
After lunch, you will go on afternoon game drives in search of more animals. We might be able to catch up with hunting cheetahs on a lucky day. The Secretary birds are frequently seen hunting among the grasses. We return to our lodge before the evening for some well-deserved rest.
We will depart for our final game drive in Serengeti National Park after breakfast. Today, we’ll go on a game drive here for a few hours before leaving the Serengeti. Your final picnic lunch in the Serengeti’s endless plains will be an unforgettable experience.
After lunch, take a brief break before continuing on to Ngorongoro, on the way enjoy an en route game drive. You may see lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, cheetahs, and antelopes. We proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where we will spend the night.
We’ll have an early breakfast before heading down the crater for an unforgettable game drive. The crater is 610 meters deep and is home to animals all year.
Here you can see hyenas, jackals, lions, zebras, wildebeests, kori bustards, and hippos. After lunch in the afternoon, we will embark on another short game drive.
We will then ascend and drive to a lodge in Arusha city for dinner and overnight.
